I must admit: when I was hired to take newborn pictures for Rachel and Ben, I shuddered in nervous and unwilling anticipation at the thought of being asked to take a picture of baby Liam asleep, naked, and contorted with hands under chin whilst laying in some sort of cushy uteral contraption covered in faux fur.

All I want to do is to take photographs that show the beautiful warmth of life. Because they’re the only moments that we can ever truly cherish.

None of this baby-sleeping-in-a-giant-pumpkin business.

Upon first speaking with Rachel, my reservations melted away. She told me that they wanted simple and real photos of their precious new baby.

Whilst at their house taking snaps, Rachel and Ben told me how they’d waited many years for this precious little person. And what a sweet soul he is.

Little Peanut, it was a pleasure meeting you. Thanks for being so damn cute.

What beautiful pictures Jess!! We cant wait to see all of them. You were so ‘natural’ in the way you took the photos and have such an easy manner. It was a much more pleasant experience than i though it was going to be! I would recommend you to anyone who needs a down to earth, easy going but professional photographer.

Hannah, thank you. It’s such an intimate thing to do for somebody you don’t know very well, but it was such a lovely morning with this family.

      Hope you’re well. xx
